Round or square, the same eclipse effect can be done with either. Not sure why there's this much anger over a miniscule pedantic feature change...oh right this is minecraft.

Has everyone forgotten that stuff like clay and slimeballs and other random ingredients are round too? The essence of Minecraft is square materials, yes, but there are plenty of realistic shapes for ingots and signs and such as well.

Let the celestial bodies be round.

To all those claiming it shouldn't be round because everything else is square:

The compass
The watch

ROUND!!!!!!!!!
everything else can stay square but come on! a round moon allows for so much more potential,
you could have full moon being rare and meaning something bad (like dragons come out)
you could make a solar eclipse happen with a very low chance and something cool happen when it does,
the moon is kinda boring and 'square' otherwise

Holy crap a solar eclipse! Nice idea. Mid-day and suddenly everything goes dark. Awesome!
