Report Abuse There are no curves in Minecraft, but there are the illusions of curves created by patterns of squares. From millions of miles away, a sun made entirely of cubes would appear round. I don't know why anyone even cares what the vanilla sun looks like anyway though. Thanks to Painterly, mine has been a very blocky circle for over a year now. No offense to the guys at Mojang, but I haven't cared about changes to the game's textures since a week or two after I started playing. If you don't like it either way, change it back. We need to look at this in comparison to everything else, put it in perspective. What shape is Overworld? There is not actual curves to the shape of the world. Following this pattern, it would only make sense that Overworld is in fact a cube. (If it isnt completely flat) Making the sun and the moon round is completely nonsensical. It doesnt fit with the theme or style of minecraft whatsoever, which is exactly why it should be square, if not cubed. Posted by That one dude October 15, 2011 at 9:30 pm. Report Abuse Or round day round night square day square night, like taking turns. Or an option in the interface to switch it between round or square. Or just make it square, for minecrafts image. Definitely be square, people are like "AMG circle for realism" ... Realism? Like punching cubes of dirt, or a tree is realistic? Or a wooden axepick being able to break anything never the less stone? Make it a setting so ppl can have the option cause I like both and I think it would be cool to switch it every few days Posted by blubirdon October 15, 2011 at 8:10 pm. Report Abuse well the moon is going to cycle and I think it would be crappy if the moon was square and was going through the cycles. Everything in the game is block shaped. Why not keep the sun and the moon that way? Posted by That Guy October 15, 2011 at 7:45 pm. Report Abuse The sun and moon look so much better round. Most of the people want them to remain square just because they don't like change. But this is for the better. Posted by Gangsta12473 October 15, 2011 at 7:00 pm. Report Abuse I have been playing since Minecraft Alpha. I miss Alpha and because of all of the new updates, the game seems to grow farther and farther away from my attention. Don't ruin the classics. Keep it square or at least make it optional in the settings. Posted by Mormon Mammoth October 15, 2011 at 6:51 pm. Report Abuse I love the lunar cycle. Don't make it square if it rids of the lunar cycle. notch what is in the sky at night and day? what is it's shape? make em round for realism! Report Abuse punch a tree in the middle, what u see, oh wait u cant, and if you did the tree will fall, you want realism go play another game
