I've looked at the word square so much on this page that it doesnt even look properly spelled. Is that how you spell it? Square? Wierd.

Anyway, player shadows are round, who cares if the sun is round? Plus, the phases wouldn't look right on a cubed moon.

I would say square because it gives a bigger impression that you're not in real life... you're in the world of Minecraft: the land of the rising square sun.

Square of course, a round sun just isn't Minecrafty enough. I think it would definitely accent the game to just keep it as is.

Square and notch hasn't made the phases for the square moon yet but he'll probably do it if square wins

I want phases... That's it. Don't care if it's a square or circle, because i use a texture pack! Anyone heard of that? So please stop making such a big fuzz about it and use a texture pack. There are several texture packs in the native resolution that doesn't mess up the minecraft feeling!!!

Quadrilaterals RULE!

But yeah, I prefer the classic look, though an option to change it would be nice.

Everything in minecraft is square
I remember when I say that and giggled, and then broke out laughing when I realized the sun was also square
Why would you take away that experience from people?

I think a round moon would make the moon cycles look much better, since it'd look kind of weird with a square moon. But it doesn't really matter, we have texture packs. :/ I don't know why people are getting so aggressive over this.

Because anyone who disagrees with you about anything is The Enemy on the internet. Yes. Even whether sprites in video games should have sharp corners vs. slightly more rounded, stairstepped corners.
