      yea but not the map the moon and sun are apart of the map clouds are round are they? why should the sun and moon be everything is flat and with square's something with the map is round items yes but not the land of minecraft

Yes the game is full of squares, but the moon and sun are far away, even though there are squares in Minecraft, you can still make a semi-rounded object, so it would still make sense if it were round...

It still has the blocky appeal in its pixelated texture, just like the textures of eggs, ender pearls, or eyes of ender.
Square moon phases look ridiculous.

Minecraft is about blocks, blocks are square so it would flow more with the theme of Minecraft.

As much as I wanted to pick circle, I picked what I thought was best for the over all look of Minecraft.
