That square moon phases image isn't official so you can't compare the two.

Any reason why you'd turn the moon upside down?

I really love the moon phases, but I really think that the sun and moon should bothe be square (or more square than circular) otherwise it ruins the theme of Minecraft. If I wanted it to be circular I would get a texture pack! But what ever you choose in the end I will be happy with. You know best Notch

Definately square, coz mc is all about squares, you can't just go and stick a circle in the middle of a cubefeild!

Circle, contrasts all the square blocks nicely. Makes it seem like space is something different.

Square is much more in the spirit of the game.
