terrain generation is done in square chunks, and there is no obvious curvature in the minecraft world. Therefore, the sun, stars, and moon, I think, should remain SQUARE!!!  Triangle! They have to stay SQUARE! Or you could always put in an option for the user to select round or square, what ever they prefer. I want my Sun and Moon as square as my beloved blocks. Report Abuse #### you notch, I always used to say Instead of when pigs fly i said "when the minecraft sun is round" I say, a combination of the two. And also, add phases of the moon! Minecraft began with the sun and moon textured as squares. I see no need to change that in the default textures. If you want the moon and sun different, then you can retexture them to your liking.
