Who says there can't be circles? Minecraft...
Doesn't say NoCircleCraft now does it? There already are a bunch of circles in the game, so what does it matter if there's another? Imagine the possibilities with lunar phases?

Circles made up of pixels aren't even circles anyway...

I'm in favor of square, but the moon should still have phases.

Realism isn't a major factor here.

Of course it can. Cube floats in sky. Cube rotates about one axis. You'll always see a brighter face and a darker face and the terminator will always cut straight through what you're seeing from top to bottom (aligned with axis of rotation).

either way, texture packs will have their own variations of it. I dont know about you guys but i know alot of the people i play with have texture packs. Mine already has a round sun and moon.

What I am trying to say is that with round, there are phases, and you can just make every phase the same if you want the classic square, but if you still have square, there will be no phases, and no way to fix them with texture packs.

I used to think square, but now, that I've thought it over and over, I decided that I like round better. And for all of you who still want square, I'll make you your own personal texture pack with the square sun and moon, which you can't do with square, because round has phases of the moon.

And not everybody sees this poll either. I just barely noticed the tiny little message.

But you can't PLACE any of those items so it doesn't matter if they're round.

It's not a perfect circle. It's a "circle" made of blocks.
