Even if round wins, I hope if will be highly pixelated.

Everyone knows the sun is made up of several billion blocks of ignited plasma. It only LOOKS like a perfectly round shape because we're so far away.

As you see it's not completely round but it has the blocky appeal in its pixelated texture
just like the textures of eggs or ender pearls, or eyes of ender.

How bout a moon/sun that use smaller squares to become close to circular. It is still made of blocks and also allows for the different moon phases that were suggested.

    Square moon can still have phases diagonally.
