Or you can just change the texture yourself. Copy the square one from an older version.

it's about phases of the moon not just a difference of one .png file

Just make the square one go through phases...

but adding an option to switch between is definitely the best way to handle a split vote like this

OK, I take back the bias part. But I'm sure the percentages are rigged!

Notch rigged this to troll everyone. No, seriously, the poll is made to split the votes between square, round, and don't care, all while keeping the exact percentages the same. It's also made to give a slight lead to the square count. Crazy Notch!

I'm with you there! Even if round does LOOK cool, it doesn't feel like the right theme for Minecraft...

thats a terrible example consider the rounded shape is blocking like mountains and hills in minecraft.

If you care so much about a round sun, use a texture pack. Let him focus on more shapes for mobs!

how about you get a texture pack for a square considering round is already implemented in the game. and oh no! the dragon mobs wings are not blocks quick everybody freak out because theyre not the "minecraft theme". stfu

Just Because you think since minecraft is blocky you think the sun/moon needs to be to when even the round sun/moon are still square but it is funny considering there are a lot of round things in minecraft!

What a friend of mine said about the percentages: the poll can now be divided like this:
44% herp, 44% derp. and 12% GET A ####ING TEXTURE PACK

the new moon is not a effing circle, hence why is called round not circle. you moron. the new moon is made up of tiny blocks giving it an illusion of a rounded shape. use your eyes.

Have you ever looked at Minecraft textures? The moon and sun are just .pngs, and yes, you can make a round object, he doesn't have to move a bunch of squares together like you imply.. however, no matter the resolution, a circle computer land is always technically a bunch of little squares.
