Round suns and moons are so mainstream.

Don't listen to the in-game fascists! They only want geometric hand-outs to all so everyone is happy and gets what they want, but don't deserve!

VOTE TRIANGLE FOR A BETTER TOMORROW!

What if the triangle spins quickly so as to appear round?

Yeah this, but here is a terrible place to suggest it Also it seems to minor to get a menu option, they might not even consider it.

Personally, I replace the moon with a photo of the actual moon in a texture pack, so whatever happens to it doesn't matter to me.

Does it matter? If people don't like it they can just change the texture pack.

How about a cube that that changes angle as the day progresses?

Round! Or option in-game.

Honestly, I just want gameplay effects with the moon. Wolves become hostile during full moon? Return of the zombie siege, with medium-big zombies that can break blocks?

Me Gusta this comment... maybe not the breaking blocks though...

t still has the blocky appeal in its pixelated texture, just like the textures of eggs, ender pearls, or eyes of ender.
Square moon phases look ridiculous.

Moon phases look ridiculous when the sun and moon are always 180 degrees apart in the sky.

Consider this: The stars are square. If the stars are square that means, most likely, the Minecraft "world/planet" is also square. If the moon and sun become round then the stars would have to become round as well. This changes the entire Minecraft Universe.

Even if stars were square, at the distance they are at from the earth they would appear as round dots. Why they are square in minecraft, who knows.
