Report Abuse The square sun, moon, and clouds are one of the charms of Minecraft. I have always thought these features to be one of the many charms of the game. However, I think moon phases are a really cool idea, but they probably wouldnt look right with a square moon. Therefore, I have to vote for a round sun and moon. Posted by Thomas Glynn October 13, 2011 at 11:20 am. Report Abuse Never thought I'd say this but on Pre-Release 4 the round Sun and Moon look fantastic. Report Abuse I think it should be in the options. Because i can see why people like the squares. but i use a texturepack and it's pentagonal so i don't really care. But phases do look awesome (love some alternating terrain ) Posted by Hiccup95 October 13, 2011 at 11:19 am. Report Abuse SQUARE!
