    There ARE phases now! He just added them in the past few hours I think it was. That's why I'm voting round, while I do enjoy the square stuff, the phases wouldn't look good with it.

Circle. It looks much better, and YES, it still looks like Minecraft. Minecraft isn't 100% made of giant squares in the first place, so I don't see the problem with a more beautiful and round sun and moon.

you can all ways get a texture pack for the shape of the moon, so why not leave it square?

Square moon and sun is one of the original things that resembles the general theme of the minecraft world, squareness. Round things don't belong in this world and making those round is like the same thing as making the player's head sphere. It just doesn't suit! I like the idea of moon phases but I'm sure they can be as well made with the original square moon.

I tested 1.9 pre-release 4 and i really loved round sun and moon. It fits in the game perfectly.

First of all, he's making it round because he wants to add moon phases, which could mean varying mob difficulty depending on the phase.

And I'm sure you will be able to change it with a texture pack anyway.

Round looks better the square looks like crap. I love texture packs that make it look round.

It should be an option, or it should be round so we can keep phases.

Even looking at the "round" moon, it's obviously comprised of cubes.

....make it circle, everything in minecraft is square....at least the sun and the moon could be circle.....its still the low resolution.....
