The theme of minecraft is the square/cube. Why change that.

Keep it the same. Phases can be implemented in the same fashion. If were going to change the moon/sun to a circle we might as well change wood to an oval.

But they are a blocky round. Which makes them still square in nature but more awesome.

Tall grass is not square. IT looks real. You have other items that are not square. Things in the game are improving BECAUSE they are NOT square. Keep going that direction !!

It would be fun for the moon to go through phases depending on the night. This would also make it easier to count how long a world has been played in.

Round, of course. And depending on the phases of the moon, mobs would be stronger...
