You could put an option in the graphic menu to toggle round or square? But I voted round, square never felt quite right for me.  Very true - Scott has a point. Ender pearls are round, slime balls are round. There are already circles in Minecraft. Minecraft is more about pixelation than squares. In light of this... I vote round. I made it round, please do the same. I think the phases would look incredibly dumb if the moon was square, that's why it was changed to a circle after all. I'll be really sad if the moon phases go; I've wanted to make an in-game calendar for a long time, and now I finally can. tl;dr I prefer round, but it doesn't matter as long as we still have phases.
