Notch already made the decision, while I do admit that a square sun/moon has a certain charm to it, more things (such as moon phases) can be done with a O. and it you are scarred for life, get a texture pack or something, don't just complain.

How about a new official TEXTURE PACK to coincide with the official Minecraft release. It would be the default for everyone new, with a round moon/sun. Then people who choose to can use the old pack with the square sun/moon.

I voted round because I feel like a round mun/soon would be the next logical step in the advancement of the game.

p.s

your insane... is a mountain round? No it appears to be smooth and natural looking from a far even though it's made of blocks.

The Moon should be round but with a slight hint of blockyness around the edges. Which is exactly what he should add.

Making a giant cube moon makes no sense. Imagine flying towards it... it'd be silly.

But, my mountains are shaped like rectangles on rectangles, and those rectangles are made of squares.

There are texture packs to make the sun and moon round. Minecraft is a square game, and it should stay that way.

Round Sun, watched some youtube videos with peoples mods where the moon is round, it looks way more awesome.

You should check it out on youtube if you get the chance.

I prefer it being a pixelated round, gives you a sense of its mass.

Square, I think a square sun and moon speaks to the 'square' nature of the minecraft world.
